## *Impact for districts. Career growth for students.*

### A two‑week, immersive January Term fellowship that pairs students with K–12 public school districts to tackle high‑priority, real‑world challenges.

When school districts succeed, students and communities thrive. It’s why HGSE is deepening partnerships with public school districts on the cusp of change and opportunity. Established in 2026, the Dean’s Education Fellows Program connects HGSE master's students with superintendents and district leaders across the United States for intensive, high‑impact projects during the January Term which runs the first two full weeks of January.

Working directly with superintendents and central office leaders, Fellows work in pairs or trios to complete projects that require focused research, data analysis, and strategy development tied to a district priority. Through the fellowship, Fellows gain hands‑on experience with systems‑level change and help districts move from ideas to actionable plans.

We are actively recruiting district partners for our inaugural cohort of Fellows in January 2027.

 ### 1. Districts identify high‑impact projects

HGSE staff collaborate with superintendents and district leaders to define project scopes aligned to pressing district needs—such as academics and instruction, social‑emotional learning, family engagement, or data and accountability.

 ### 2. Fellows are selected and prepared

HGSE Ed.M. students are selected and matched to districts based on skills, experience, and interest. Fellows receive pre‑fellowship training and are paired with mentors.

 ### 3. Intensive two‑week January Term experience

Fellows relocate to their assigned district, work full‑time from the central office, conduct research and analysis, and co‑develop concrete deliverables with district leaders.

 ### 4. Projects completed and district action

Fellows present findings and recommendations for superintendents and central office leaders to advance a key priority of the district.
